Root Canal
In the center of a healthy tooth pulp tissue (nerve) is located.
If for any reason such as carious lesions (cavities and bacterial
invasion), trauma, etc., the pulp tissue dies and get infected, the
tooth requires endodontic therapy (root canal treatment).
Today, with profound anesthesia, root canal treatments are virtually
very comfortable and painless.
The nerve tissue is removed and the canal is filled with an inert material.
In most cases, a tooth that has received root canal therapy requires
post and core, and a crown.
